The fountain in the middle is surrounded by pillars (one for each state, DC, and other territories) with an arch on each end marked “Atlantic” & “Pacific”. There’s also the Freedom Wall which contains 4,048 stars – each star represents 100 Americans killed during the war ⭐️- Washington DC – April 2018
