I’m back!! Ecuador was out of this world! The whole time I couldn’t shake this feeling that I’d stepped into a David Attenborough documentary!
We arrived at San Isidro late in the evening after a day full of airports, planes, and long bus rides. I was so tired that night that the fact I was in Ecuador didn’t really hit me until the following morning when I woke up to a spectacular sunrise in the mountains and more hummingbirds in one place that I had ever seen before! In total we saw 11 different species of hummingbirds, but there were often at least 20 individuals competing at the feeders for a drink! Here’s a shot of the most common species we saw; the Chestnut Breasted Coronet.
