In focus for today’s #TravelerTuesday ~ Atomium, Brussels.
What’s so great about an atom shaped structure? Yep, that’s what I thought too. And probably, most non-science people wouldn’t be very enthused about it either. But, let me tell you, witnessing it up close will leave you in awe of its architectural grandeur and the sheer size of it will leave you gaping. We visited at a bad time; the weather was unsuitable (3 degrees and raining) and the Atomium’s viewing galleries were closed for maintenance. Despite that, I was left marvelling at how the structure must’ve come to be. If you’re in Europe, visit this one for sheer architectural and designing brilliance. But, I’d suggest visiting in summer so you are not chilled to the bone!
Pro-tip : Take the hop on – hop off (route 1 and route 2 combo) because the Atomium is on the outskirts and I really enjoyed getting to know the city’s history on the bus’s audio guide.
