It was around 3 in the afternoon on a cloudy, moody day. I was feeling down that whole day, when suddenly the sun came out. With roughly only two hours of left of daylight, I left the house for a walk. I felt little raindrops when I walked out of the door, but I decided to still go. Couldn’t see much due to my hoodie, but I just kept going while trying to clear my mind.

I saw an old lady walking towards me, and then she asked me ‘do you see that?’. She had a confused look on her face, and at first I thought she was going to complain about something in the street. But then I took my hoodie off, and saw a huge rainbow ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The old lady asked me if I knew the meaning of a rainbow. I told her that I knew the story of Noah’s Ark. And then she said these beautiful words: ‘the rainbow is the promise of God that everything will be okay, no matter what. Now look at it, before it’s gone’. She walked away peacefully, and I stared at that rainbow until it disappeared. Crying and smiling at the same time. That lady was my angel that day, giving me an euphoric feeling of love and hope.
