‘Nothing happens’ is impossible- when you die, you don’t keep living. You die- and we don’t understand what that is. Eternal nothingness is entirely contradictory to what we are. The comforting thought is that everyone before us has died, and everyone after us will also die, so it can’t be a terrible thing.
