On our last day in Belgium we spent a few hours at the beach…

On our last day in Belgium we spent a few hours at the beach in Blankenberge. This shot was taken during our first walk on the sand (complete with chilly bare feet on my part) just after we had arrived. Apart from a few dog walkers, and men taking down some of the temporary structures built on the beach for the summer season, we were pretty much alone. However, later on when the sun came out and we returned to the beach for another stroll we were no longer lonely. There were people having a surfing lesson, a couple of kids braving a dip and many others simply enjoying the sea air. It was chilly, blustery and invigorating. As always I left the seaside feeling absolutely knackered!
