One of the most impressive places that I’ve traveled to is the city of Mostar in Bosnia ???????? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A centuries-old city with beautiful influences from many cultures and religions. But that same city also carries the scars of a heartbreaking civil war which happened 25 years ago. During this war, the Stari Most Bridge got completely destroyed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After the war, Mostar was determined to restore its glory and rebuilt the Stari Most in only two years. Yes, rebuilt. They used the exact same technique as the original bridge to keep their UNESCO Heritage status.

I admire Mostar and its people a lot for this. They went through the most horrific experience ever, something that they won’t ever forget of course. But they also had the will to move on and took immediate action to do so. They showed that it’s possible to rise out of the ashes of your past
