This is Bunja, our guide that brought us all the way around the Gambian country in two days.

Whilst driving over the Gambian highway (sort of), he instructed the driver to make an emergency stop right away.

Consider yourself sitting in a minivan that goes from approximately 100km/h to standing still in about five seconds… Scared myself shitless!

Immediately after the stop, the van backed up with an immense haste for about twenty meters and soon come to a full stop once again. Bunja jumped out and the first thing he did was ripping that stick he’s holding off one of the roadside bushes.

I was amazed, what the hell was he doing?

Eventually he picked up a wild kameleon he’d spotted from the middle of the highway, walked back inside and improvised a story about the Gambian wildlife. Never seen a guide doing something like that, but there’s a first for everything right?
