. This Macedonian flag waves in the wind on this hot day. It’s one of the highest points that can be found in Ohrid city. On top of one of the 18 towers that connects the 3 kilometers walls of which Samuel’s fortress is made of.
The fort is of no more use except the use as an tourism attraction nowadays. In medieval times though, it was one of the highest defensible keeps of Macedonia.
On top of these walls it’s an amazing sight with the lookout over lake Ohrid and it’s neighboring mountain ridges. It’s pretty easy to imagine the view that an 18th century archer would’ve had when defending this keep from these high vantage points. . . . . .
