Yesterday I told you the story of how my cultural identity was formed by the many places that I call home, but now let’s focus on the place where I grew up: Spijkenisse I lived there for fifteen years, during which I went to elementary and high school got my first job delivering newspapers failed my driver’s license three times before I finally got it at the 4th exam and made close friends for life ️
~
In my opinion, Spijkenisse is not a pretty city at all, so usually I wouldn’t take pictures here but with all these pink blooms even Spijkenisse looks cute So here are some facts about Spijkenisse for you:
•Spijkenisse is located on an island right next to Rotterdam, meaning that you can hit the ‘big city’ whenever you want to, or go further into the island to enjoy some typical Dutch landscapes and beach time
•The name Spijkenisse is derived from the Dutch words for ‘pointy nose’, because the shape of the city looks like, you guessed it, a pointy nose!
•The major tourist attraction of Spijkenisse is a windmill ????
•DJ Afrojack was born and raised in Spijkenisse He even took Paris Hilton to the local snack bar when they were dating. Unfortunately, I have never seen him in the streets! ~
In which place did you spent your childhood?
