One of my very first solo day trips in Spain was to Toledo. Getting away from Madrid for the day was exactly what I needed, and Toledo was the perfect peaceful get away. From Madrid it is an hour car ride or a 2hr bus/train ride.Toledo is filled with history and was influenced by Christians, Muslims, and Jews. All lived together for hundreds of years. Besides the architecture, Toledo has a beautiful nature surrounding.
