After the Washington Monument the first memorial you will come across is the World War II Memorial ???????? this memorial was dedicated in 2004 and it honors the memory of those who served and those who died during WWII. The fountain in the middle is surrounded by pillars (one for each state, DC, and other territories) with an arch on each end marked “Atlantic” & “Pacific”. There’s also the Freedom Wall which contains 4,048 stars – each star represents 100 Americans killed during the war ⭐️- Washington DC – April 2018
