A group of kids standing in line while we visited Xavier’s school. Xavier donated three quarters of his land to build a school for the community where he lives.
All the kids in this capture are being distracted by few of their schoolmates whom performed a dance for us so called Toubabs*. All except the boy standing next to the tree, he was impressed by the piece of technology I held to my face.
The word Toubab originated somewhere during the British colonization of the Gambia, when the Gambians received two coins called bob’s for carrying out tasks. Nowadays it’s used as a word without derogatory connotations, associated with us wealthy travelers. . . . . .
