At steps of Watadageya
Watadageya was the temple of the scared Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha built by the Supreme Ruler King Parakramabahu of the Polonnaruwa era. The monument dates back to the 12th century A.D.
Even-though it remains as ruins it still mesmerize its visitors. Famous for rock carvings this image depicts the traditional entrance of a scared Buddhist monument which consists of a moonstone, two guard stones, two balustrades and a fleet of stairs.
