Chances are that if you are an absolute daredevil, you already have a list going of the insane things you want to do. However, for the ones that are still adventurous, or want to become adventurous, this list is dedicated to you. We’re going to break down the top seven places for adventure vacations and how you can best spend your time doing awesome things in these places.

Thailand

The citizens of this country welcome tourists with open arms and show them the ropes of how unique this place really is. The main adventure here is hiking, trekking and biking. It is home of the Golden Triangle, which is a highly respected road tour that can range up to 57 miles on bicycle through a very special area. Not to mention, the surrounding area of Thailand is almost entirely water. Scuba diving and snorkelling here is top-notch. We recommend taking a trip down into the unknown with these guys.

Finland

Prefer to be cold in addition to going on an adventure? Wow. Go you, but that is just nuts. We’ll go ahead and give you a unique recommendation : Finland. Here, you can go out on a dog-sled adventure, and then stay at a nice and cozy igloo. Yes, there are actual igloos here that you can hang out in. It pretty much just sounds like the real-life, wild version of Club Penguin.

Jordan

How about working with the world’s oldest travel company, Cox & Kings? They have had to have enough interest from adventurers to last this long, right? Exactly! Jordan is the home to more of the safari adventure type, completely contrasting with the people who choose the freezing Finland adventure above. Here, you can go on camel-back escapades, stay in castles, explore the famous and historic Jordan River, or even the Dead Sea. Jordan is an amazing place with a lot of history and culture too.

Ganges

Get super spiritual and be one with the universe. The Ganges in India have loads of sacred places and waters that many visit and never return home the same. The Ganges are sacred to Hindus, and many yogis dedicate their lives of worship here. Plenty of hiking, swimming, and exploring around the holy river, too. To make it better, you can make a short trip from here to the Himalayan mountain range if you dare. Or an intense bike ride to Leh-Ladakh and surrounding areas, where you will find one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world. Let yourself truly go!

Machu Picchu

Explore one of the lost lands that many have regarded as a far-gone city and a place that will sink into your bones. Not only is it far from home, it is far from time. Google it and you will immediately recognize these Incan civilization ruins that lay in the Andes Mountains. Nobody knows really anything about this place’s history, but maybe you can be the one to solve the mystery on your expedition.

Pompeii

Ah, the age-old story about people being too stubborn to notice anything around them. Thankfully, you are the complete opposite and want to see everything this world has to offer. Pompeii is another ancient civilization, but the remains are a bit more well-known as it was completely covered by the greatest/worst volcano eruption in human history.

Amazon River

About as crazy as one can get. You will be fully submerged into adventure and natural life. Just make sure you are protected and well-aware of what resides in the world’s greatest jungle. There are actually a lot of comprehensive exploratory guides about the Amazon that offer a well-rounded experience. We would suggest not making this a solo trip though – many parts of the Amazon are still virtually unexplored and it would be better and safer to go as a group.

Especially in the Amazon, and even otherwise, your plans should include reliable telecommunications. BNESIM offers an international SIM card for travelers in multiple locations on one virtual phone plan. Adventures are for the amazing crazy people among us, but no matter how adventurous you are, you still need to be cautious. Indiana Jones always kept in touch with certain people, there’s no reason you shouldn’t either.
