Hit the beach

Or, more accurately, choose among the several beaches located here. Whether you’re looking for a quiet escape or an exciting nightlife, there’s a sun-kissed spot in Bali for you. If you’re traveling with your family, everyone is sure to love the gorgeous Nusa Dua Beach. Located on the coastline of Nusa Dua’s luxury hotels and resorts, this beach features calm waters, soft white sand, and a variety of watersports to enjoy. Nusa Dua Beach is kept pristine by the resort staff, and other attractions are located just a short walk away, including several restaurants and a shopping center.

If you’re more of a thrill-seeker, Amed Beach provides some of the best snorkeling and diving spots to explore. You’ll be able to see exotic marine life, vibrant coral reefs, and if you visit nearby Tulamben, you can even explore the US Liberty Shipwreck! If there are any surfers in your group, Canggu Beach and Padang Beach are excellent places to catch some waves.

Visit the serene temples

Picturesque temples can be found in several places around Bali, and visitors are more than welcome to visit these religious sites. People can often be found praying and conducting ceremonies at these holy places, so guests are expected to be quiet and respectful of their customs. For instance, at the Tirta Empul, or “Holy Water Spring,” there is a large pool in the center of the temple that people wade in during prayer. Visitors are welcome to enter the pool, but they must go in fully clothed and wear a sarong (which are free to borrow on-site).

Another must-see temple is Pura Taman Ayun. The temple was built back in 1634 and actually served as the main temple of the Mengwi Kingdom until it was conquered in 1891. Pura Taman Ayun is considered to be one of the prettiest temples in Bali due to its elegant gardens and wide moat that surrounds the building.

Finally, the stunning temple of Pura Luhur Uluwatu sits 70 meters above the Indian Ocean on a steep cliffside. Here, you can watch the daily Kecak dance performances, admire the ancient sculptures, and see some fantastic examples of Balinese architecture.

Find Indonesia’s best waterfalls

Exploring the natural beauty of Indonesia wouldn’t be complete without some cliff diving and swimming beneath waterfalls! One highly recommended place for tourists to check out is the
Aling-Aling waterfall, which has formed into a natural waterslide of sorts, according to locals and guests alike. At the top of the waterfall, it diverts into two separate streams that cascade down the steep, 35-meter cliffside, ending in a clear freshwater pool to swim and cool off in.

Near the Aling-Aling waterfall, there are several smaller waterfalls within a short walking distance where you can safely do some cliff diving. These waterfalls include the Pcuk waterfall, Twin waterfall, Camera waterfall, and Dedari waterfall, and Kroya waterfall.
